Blogger Blog Search Widget is Broken?

A big reason I wanted to use Blogger was because I can dump information here, and search it back later - like a poor man's wiki... Though I created this blog not long ago, I finally got around to actually testing the function that is most important to me - only to find that it is broken!

I set the search widget to search my blog only, but it comes up dry. Nothing. Zilch. However when I ask it to also search linked pages, it can find those, but still not my blog's stuff. I have submitted a report to Google.

Now, I did find that I can still use the search box at the top of the page in the blogger bar... but that is still uncool.

I did a little meandering around (funny, I should think this more important to my purpose of using Blogger...) and I found Google lets you create custom search engines to search specific URLs. It appears you can put multiple url's into a single search function. This is the search page I created for this blog. However there is a fault- since it doesn't recognize that this is a blog, it doesn't search individual post information - it searches the entire page of a post...

Unless searching for a specific post title, the search engine also retrieves things from the description text and tag cloud on the side of every page of my blog... Ex. Search "pen" and you get a ton of search results that all identify my blog description text...

At this point, I'm at a loss of what to do...

Update 7/25/13
It may not be broken, just takes forever to update and properly search.
